Sick Visits With Your Own Doctor

Acute illness does not wait for a convenient time. At PHCM, Dr. Olaleye evaluates and treats new or worsening symptoms for both established and new patients — with same-day availability based on clinical need and schedule. Unlike urgent care centers, a sick visit at PHCM is with the physician who knows your medical history, your current medications, and your baseline — which means faster, more accurate evaluation and a care plan that fits your full picture.

Walk-ins may be accommodated based on provider availability and the patient's clinical needs. Calling ahead is strongly encouraged. Walk-in availability is not guaranteed.

PHCM is not an emergency room. If you are experiencing chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding, or any life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.

What We Offer

Upper Respiratory Infections

Evaluation and treatment of colds, flu, sinus infections, bronchitis, and other upper and lower respiratory illnesses — including testing when appropriate.

Urinary Tract Infections

Evaluation, urinalysis, and treatment of UTIs — with culture and sensitivity testing when needed.

Skin Infections & Rashes

Evaluation of cellulitis, skin infections, and common rashes — with treatment or referral as appropriate.

Fever Evaluation

Assessment of fever in adults — identifying the source, evaluating severity, and determining the appropriate course of treatment.

Gastrointestinal Illness

Evaluation of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain — distinguishing acute illness from exacerbations of chronic conditions.

Musculoskeletal Complaints

Evaluation of acute joint pain, muscle strain, and minor injuries — with imaging referral or specialist coordination when indicated.

Worsening Chronic Condition

Urgent evaluation when a known chronic condition — diabetes, hypertension, COPD, heart disease — appears to be worsening or decompensating.

Telehealth Sick Visits

For established patients with appropriate acute concerns, telehealth sick visits may be available. Call (601) 357-5118 to determine if your concern can be addressed virtually.

Why It Matters

Seeing your own physician for acute illness — rather than a rotating urgent care provider — means your care is connected. Your doctor knows your allergies, your current medications, your chronic conditions, and your history. That context changes the quality of the evaluation.

Same-day availability is not guaranteed. Call (601) 357-5118 for Newton or (601) 453-5783 for Meridian to check availability.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Calling ahead is strongly recommended. While walk-ins are welcome based on availability, calling first allows our team to confirm that Dr. Olaleye is at the clinic that day and that same-day time is available. Call Newton at (601) 357-5118 or Meridian at (601) 453-5783.

PHCM can evaluate and treat a wide range of acute illnesses including upper respiratory infections, sinus infections, strep throat, urinary tract infections, ear infections, flu, minor injuries, skin conditions, and other non-emergency concerns. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Yes. New patients are welcome for acute sick visits. Please bring your insurance card, a photo ID, and a list of current medications. If you have records from a previous provider, bringing them will help Dr. Olaleye provide the most informed care possible.

A sick visit at PHCM is appropriate for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. The emergency room is appropriate for chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, or any condition that may be life-threatening. When in doubt, call 911 or go to the ER.

Telehealth sick visits are available for established patients with appropriate conditions — such as mild respiratory symptoms, medication questions, or minor concerns that do not require a physical examination. New patients and conditions requiring an in-person exam must be seen at the clinic. Contact our office to determine eligibility.
